At Skyla, we operate with 11 Directors, who are elected by our members and serve 3-year terms. Our Board is responsible for duties such as credit union policy, planning, finance, and service delivery. But – their most important task – is ensuring we always remain right here in the communities we serve, are true to our mission and values, and meet you wherever you are in your financial journey. Unlike a bank’s Board of Directors, Credit Union Directors serve on a voluntary basis.
The nominating committee has placed into nomination four eligible members for inclusion on the election ballot: one name for each position on the Board open for election. The nominees (listed alphabetically) are:
For 13 years, I was on the Credit Union Board, managing finances and compliance. With 29 years in non-profit management, I developed strong leadership, fundraising, and community skills. As Executive Director at Clayworks, Inc., I promote the arts and manage operations.
With 11 years on the Credit Union Board, I've sharpened my leadership skills to boost community finances. As a retired Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer, I bring a wealth of experience in keeping our community safe and engaged.
With over twenty years on the Credit Union Board of Directors, I bring extensive experience in governance. I am also a retired Division Controller from Elevate Textiles, previously known as Cone Mills.
I have four years of experience on the Credit Union’s Board and Supervisory Committee, supporting strategic direction and oversight. I’m also a Senior Program Manager at Otis Elevator Company, leading cross-functional teams on global initiatives.
